Armenia premier heads to France on working visit

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday left for France on a two-day working visit with his wife, Anna Hakobyan. The PM's delegation consists of members of the executive and legislative bodies.

Pashinyan is scheduled to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron today. In the evening, the Armenian premier and the French president, along with Anna Hakobyan and French first lady Brigitte Macron, will be on hand at the Paris Pantheon for the reburial ceremony of the Armenian hero of the Resistance Movement, Missak Manouchian, in the pantheon of the greatest figures of France.

The pantheonization ceremony for Missak Manouchian, accompanied by his wife Melinee Manouchian, will take place on Wednesday—and on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the execution of Missak Manouchian and his comrades in arms.

Missak Manouchian will be laid to rest alongside such French greats as Victor Hugo, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Marie and Pierre Curie, Emile Zola, and Alexandre Dumas.

Also, Prime Minister Pashinyan will meet with the President of the French Senate Gerard Larcher, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, and Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo.
