Toivo Klaar: Look forward to substantive meetings with Azerbaijan leadership
Toivo Klaar, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, informed that he has returned to Azerbaijani capital Baku.
"Back in Baku. Look forward to substantive meetings with Azerbaijan leadership to advance peace process after meetings in Munich. The deadly incident today underscores the urgency of pushing forward with negotiations to achieve stability & a fair peace," Klaar wrote on Twitter Sunday.
At around 10am on Sunday, a sabotage group of the Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire on vehicle on duty of the Passport and Visa Department of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Police.
As a result of subversive infiltration, three police officers were killed: Lieutenant Colonel Armen Babayan, Major Davit Danielyan, and Lieutenant Ararat Gasparyan.
Another police officer, Lieutenant Davit Hovsepyan, received a gunshot wound. He underwent an operation and is in stable condition.
