Zurabishvili leaves for U.S. visit
Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili started her working visit to the United States on Sunday, within which she is set to address the representatives of the United Nations member states on Monday at the 67th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women with a focus on the empowerment of women and girls.
During her working visit to New York, Zourabichvili is scheduled to meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, the Executive Director of UN Women, Sima Sami Bahous and Achim Steiner, the Administrator of the UN Development Programme.
The Georgian President will also hold bilateral meetings with the presidents of the countries participating in the session, as well as with the Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, the Presidential Administration said.
Salome Zourabichvili is set to deliver a public lecture at the John Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University during her visit to the universities of Harvard and Yale. A visit to the Harvard Club in New York is also planned to discuss the geopolitical situation in the Black Sea region with the members of the club.
As part of her working visit to the US, the President will meet with representatives of the Georgian diaspora in the country.
