Mishustin to Pashinyan: Russia stands for unblocking transport and economic ties in Transcaucasia

Russia favors unblocking transport and economic ties in Transcaucasia, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said, Interfax reported.

"We are traditionally in favor of unblocking economic and transport ties in Transcaucasia and consider it important to ensure the implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan," the head of the Russian cabinet said Thursday during talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Mishustin said that "creation of new transport and infrastructure routes meets the interests of all states of the region."

In turn, Pashinyan drew attention to the problem of the Lachin corridor, noting that a humanitarian crisis was developing in Nagorno-Karabakh.  At the same time, he stressed that "the Russian Federation is a key security partner for the Republic of Armenia," according to the media.
