Yerevan has finally agreed to recognize territorial integrity of Azerbaijan

Following the results of the second round of the meeting in Prague with the participation of the Presidents of France, the European Council, Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia, an agreement was reached on mutual recognition of the borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In practice, this should mean that Armenia returns the territories and 7 villages of the Gazakh region of Azerbaijan occupied in the early 90s.

In turn, Azerbaijan should withdraw to the line occupied by its armed forces until May 2022.

But the most important thing is that Armenia recognized Karabakh's belonging to Azerbaijan.

The Prague statement also does not mention any status of Karabakh.

Note that the statement says nothing about the fate of three Azerbaijani and one Armenian enclaves. In all appearances, the parties will decide their fate by exchanging territories, and these issues will be in the focus of the meeting of the bilateral commission on border delimitation at the end of October.

During the first round of the meeting, Aliyev and Pashinyan were presented with a draft statement, which they approved at a second meeting that took place late in the evening on October 6. The Foreign Ministers of both countries also attended the second round.
