CSTO to send mission to Armenia to assess situation on Azerbaijan border
President Vladimir Putin has informed the CSTO Collective Security Council about Russia's steps aimed at easing the tension on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, reports the CSTO Secretariat.
The respective statement says that the CSTO Collective Security Council has reached an agreement to send a CSTO mission to Armenia, and led by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, to assess the situation.
CSTO Chief of the Joint Staff Anatoly Sidorov and representatives of the CSTO member countries will also be part of this mission.
Also, the CSTO Collective Security Council fully supported Russia's mediation efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and reached an agreement on the setting up of a working group for constant monitoring of the situation in the CSTO zone of responsibility.
