Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received the delegation headed by OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Speaker Margareta Söderfelt, Armenian Foreign Minister's press service informed NEWS.am.

During the meeting, the Armenian side presented its positions on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process, as well as the work undertaken towards normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Mirzoyan noted that despite Azerbaijan's statements that Nagorno-Karabakh no longer exists, there is a general consensus among the international community that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains unresolved.

Mirzoyan also noted that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should receive its comprehensive settlement within the framework of the only mediation mandate recognized by the international community - the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group.

He expressed concern over the continuing anti-Armenian and bellicose rhetoric and provocative actions of the Azerbaijani authorities against Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. MFA head condemned Azerbaijan's continuous claims to Armenia's sovereign territory, calling into question the sincerity of Azerbaijan's statements on the achievement of peace in the region.

The Minister recalled that Azerbaijan continues to hold Armenian prisoners of war and civilians hostage in the territories under its control in blatant violation of international humanitarian law, as well as conducts a deliberate policy of destroying the Armenian religious and cultural heritage. In this context, the importance of practical steps by the international community to fully address these urgent issues was noted.
