European Council chief says ‘lot of progress’ was made during Brussels meeting with Armenia, Azerbaijan leaders
We made tonight a lot of progress. The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, stated this after the meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan in Brussels Wednesday.
Michel said they had a wonderful and productive meeting, together they decided to start the process of preparing all the necessary elements of a possible peace agreement and for such an agreement.
The European Council President added that they have agreed on setting up a working group on the delimitation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, these are very sensitive issues, and he is confident that in the coming weeks they will create a strong channel of communication that will enable to discuss the progress that will be made in the coming weeks.
