US Secretary of State Blinken arrives in Kyiv
Blinken is scheduled to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has already arrived in Kiev. About it informs Telegram channel KlymenkoTime.
The purpose of the visit is to coordinate efforts to prevent the threat of a Russian invasion or any other escalation from the Russian Federation.
Recall, Blinken is scheduled to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
The parties will discuss a common approach to preventing the threat of the Russian Federation to Ukraine, as well as a range of issues of strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States in trade, investment and security.
As they say on the website of the State DepartmentBlinken will also meet with US Embassy staff and families to brief on the Department’s contingency planning efforts should Russia decide to escalate further.
Blinken will then fly to Berlin, where on January 20 he will discuss recent diplomatic talks with Russia and joint efforts to deter further Russian aggression against Ukraine, including the readiness to impose sweeping sanctions.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and said that Ukraine should participate in security negotiations in Europe.
