EU wants to express its involvement in the region – CoE president
The European Union wants to be very loyal and active partner for Armenia's welfare, stability and security, President of the Council of Europe Charles Michel said at the joint press statement with the acting prime minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
"I am addressing a powerful message to you – we are by your side and again we state about providing unprecedented 2,6 billion euros financial package to support the implementation of Armenia's priorities," Charles Michel said.
He stated that the EU wants to express its engagement in the region.
"I will be in Azerbaijan tomorrow and in Georgia on Monday. We want to reinforce our ties between the EU and the countries of this region. We are getting prepared to the summit that will take place in December," the European official said.
In his turn, Nikol Pashinyan thanked for the EU's readiness to provide 2,6 billion euros to Armenia in the sidelines of the Eastern Partnership.
