The election results were unexpected for the Armenia bloc, leader of the bloc Robert Kocharyan said at a news conference today.

"I think they were unexpected for many-many others, first of all because public polls showed quite another picture. We supposed that nevertheless massive violations took place, we have definitely saw usage of administrative resources and this is why we will apply to the Constitutional Court to discuss the results of the elections," Kocharyan said.

He said they are gathering materials and will sum up them to present to the CC.

"I am sure the mandate the authorities have received is not the mandate of trust to the authorities. Our gatherings were more overcrowded than the gatherings of the representatives of the authorities and our meetings were more energetic than the ones of the authorities. My impression is that the factor of return of former authorities worked here and the circumstance that the three ex-presidents participated in the elections strengthened this factor," Kocharyan said, adding that they failed to break the factor due to very short agitation campaign.

"The people having some concerns, oriented at the last moment and voted for the incumbent authorities. This is probably the last bullet of the revolution, but I don't think that the authorities assess the situation right. They believe that this is a new mandate for them while it is a mandate more coming from the opposite side," the second president said.
