We are the ones who can lead Armenia to a bright future - Robert Kocharyan
"I would be happy if there were no need to prove that we can lead Armenia to a bright future," Armenia's ex-president the leader of "Armenia" pre-election bloc Robert Kocharyan stated on Monday on the first day of the election campaign.
"We have the situation when it is impossible to stand aside. The situation requires every Armenian come to the frontline, express readiness and take the responsibility for the future of our country. We are in that direction. We state that we are the force that can lead Armenia to a bright future. Our meetings with citizens are not one-person plays. We are represented by a team, each member of which has come a long way, has the experience and the knowledge. One person cannot solve all the problems," Kocharyan said.
The ex-president went on saying his team is ready to exert efforts even at the expense of self-sacrifice. He also drew parallels with the previous elections.
"During the previous elections, the main discourse was about the quality of the government, about the change of teams and responsible people. We never had a conversation about country to be or not to be, the security of its borders. We had never thought then we could ever discuss these issues. We are in a situation when we are discussing about the safe trip to Syunik or passing under the Azeri flag while traveling to Syunik," said Kocharyan.
The former president concluded that the only way out of the current situation is through exerting huge efforts and electing people who know the solutions.
