Azeri soldiers are still in Armenia's Syunik territory, situation needs to be treated seriously – Armenia’s acting PM
Yesterday Azerbaijani armed forces carried out provocative actions and crossed Armenia’s state border in Black Lake sector, Armenia’s Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the cabinet sitting today, adding that no essential changes have been recorded in the situation by now.
“It means there are Azerbaijani soldiers near Black Lake and there is big number of Armenian soldiers there, but I want to say that the situation has not reached to military escalation, there is no shooting or clashes,” Pashinyan said.
He noted that what happened was a pre-planned provocation with the Azerbaijanis havng falsified maps with them with which they want to ground that they are inside the Azerbaijani borders.
“But I repeat again these maps are falsified,” he stressed.
Pashinyan stressed the necessity of treating the situation very seriously, describing it as a crisis.
“Our issue is to keep Armenia’s sovereign territory inviolable and our issue is that Azerbaijani Armed Forces must retreat to the starting positions from where they started advancing,” Pashinyan said.
The acting PM said works are ongoing and a Security Council session will be convened after the cabinet sitting to discuss the situation more thoroughly.
“Necessary decisions will be made to ensure the further control of the situation,” the acting PM said.
