Armenia Government: Chief of General Staff released from post with the force of law from March 10
In accordance with the provisions of the law on military service and status of military servicemen, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent to the president motion to release Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Onik Gasparyan from post.
Government reports that on February 27 the government’s administration received president’s objections which were not accepted by the prime minister. The president was informed about it on February 28.
Considering that the president did not sign the decree of the PM within the terms defined by the law and did not apply to the CC according to the Part 6 Article 35.1 of law on military service and Part 3 Article 40 of the same law Onik Gasparyan is considered dismissed from the post with the force of law from March 10.
