    Why does Karabakh need Russian?

The fake "NKR" regime, created by Armenia on the land of Azerbaijan, is spreading messages in the media about the intention to give the Russian language the "official" status in those Azerbaijani territories that are now in the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers. Since the representatives of the separatist group remain the puppets of Yerevan, there is no doubt that this idea is a new project of the supporters of the occupation of Azerbaijani Karabakh, who are trying with all their might to neutralize the results of the Karabakh war.

Let us recall the results of the Karabakh war - Azerbaijan, defending its own territorial integrity, inflicted a crushing defeat on the aggressor country Armenia during the hostilities on its land, the Armenian occupying forces were defeated and put to flight, as a result of which the RA leadership was forced to peace and capitulated. The territories of Azerbaijan, which had been under occupation for about three decades, were liberated. According to the tripartite Statement of November 9, 2020, by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, all refugees and internally displaced persons can return to their homes, all borders previously closed due to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are unblocked.

Of course, the adherents of Armenian fascism, the criminal doctrine of the national superiority of Armenians over other peoples, did not want to accept such an obvious collapse of their plans to build a mythical "Great Armenia" at the expense of the territories of neighboring states. In Armenia itself, a campaign for the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and revenge was launched, which has been unsuccessful to this day, since the forces organizing it were overthrown by the Armenian people during the "Velvet Revolution" less than three years ago and now have no significant support in the country. The second hotbed of revanchism was kindled by the same forces in Karabakh, in the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers, where the Armenian population lives today, expecting full reintegration into the economic and social life of Azerbaijan.

Military revenge of the supporters of the occupation of Karabakh and the separatists is impossible: firstly, most of them died, secondly, they are surrounded by superior forces of the Azerbaijani army, thirdly, the supply routes of weapons are cut off, and fourthly, their zone of residence is under the control of Russian peacekeepers and the Russian-Turkish Monitoring Center. Therefore, their leadership chose the tactics of political revenge - through attempts to legitimize the "NKR", whose illusory nature did not grow after the end of the Karabakh war only because it was already 100%.

On the one hand, the work on lobbying in the parliaments of different countries and their regions of legally worthless resolutions on "recognition" of the fake regime was intensified - starting from France in mid-November and ending in distant Australia in mid-February. On the other hand, attempts to "rapprochement with Russia" have begun, and the project of giving the Russian language the "official" status in the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers refers precisely to this direction. The purpose of such a project is obvious - hindering the post-war stabilization of the situation in the South Caucasus.

First of all, it should be noted that "NKR" is an undoubtedly illegitimate and non-existent entity, the reality of which is not officially recognized even by its creator Armenia. Therefore, one of the tasks now facing the revanchists is to give the separatist group at least some semblance of existence, at least in words. Hence the numerous interviews given by field commanders and Yerevan actors living in the Azerbaijani Khankendi - the more they are heard and seen in the information field, the greater the chance that someone will think that there really is a fake regime. Any discussion around the "state attributes" of a fake regime, which, of course, cannot have it, is also suitable for this task.

The state language is one of the mandatory attributes of any state. And today, talking about the dialogue on giving the Russian language the status of "state" or "official", the separatist group first of all conveys to the information field the idea that it already has its own "state language". Meanwhile, the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers is the territory of Azerbaijan, in which, like in other regions of the country, the state language is Azerbaijani and no other. Also, only the Azerbaijani leadership can make any decisions on language policy within the internationally recognized borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan (again, this is recognized by all countries of the world, including Armenia). Formally, such actions of the fake regime are legally null and void.

At the same time, the portrayal of the separatists' "state activity" negatively affects the implementation of the trilateral Statement, since in this way they show that they do not want to be reintegrated into the life of Azerbaijan, refuse any measures to reduce tension between the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities of Karabakh, moreover, are looking for opportunities to increase this tension. In the future, such tactics cannot lead to anything but a new conflict, and this is a direct violation of the November Statement, according to which the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict is over and cannot be reanimated.

Also, separatists and their sponsors in Armenia and the Armenian diaspora directly create problems for the Russian peacekeeping mission, making it difficult to stabilize Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. Speaking about the status of the Russian language in the Azerbaijani region, supporters of the occupation of Karabakh actually harm Russia's interests in the South Caucasus.

This alone determines the failure of the second task of the fake regime - the transition to the Russian protectorate. Russia has no other interests in the presence of a peacekeeping mission in Azerbaijan, except for the normalization of interethnic and interstate contacts in the South Caucasus. The only thing that Moscow needs is for Baku and Yerevan to live a peaceful life like ordinary neighboring states with open borders and established conflict-free economic and humanitarian relations.

The protectorate over Karabakh not only does not help this, but also creates a new and very big Caucasian problem for Russia - the conflict with Azerbaijan. Today, Russian-Azerbaijani relations are an example of mutually beneficial cooperation, to the construction of which Moscow is constantly striving with all its neighbors, and everything that can spoil such relations harms it directly.

Thus, the fake "NKR" regime created by Yerevan on the land of Azerbaijan may well declare through the media that the Russian language has been given the "official" status, but this will in no way help the supporters of the occupation of Karabakh bring revenge closer and will only strike a blow at Russian foreign policy in the post-Soviet space ... The enemies of peace in the South Caucasus, pretending to be Russia's friends, in fact act as its enemies too.
