Bakhtadze noted that 450 local citizens were employed in the construction of the thermal power plant, while 200 permanent jobs in total will be created at the plant.

The total cost of the project was $190 million, and was financed by the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation.
Gardabani Thermal Power Plant 2 will generate about 1.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
The building process started in February 2018 and ended in December 2019.
