Putin, Macron discuss development of situation in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone
Presidents of Russia and France Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron have discussed the development of the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
According to the Kremlin’s press service, Putin talked about the steps that Russia is taking to prevent further escalation of hostilities and for speedy resumption of negotiations for a political and diplomatic settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The importance of observance of the ceasefire agreements reached by the conflicting sides on October 10 and 17, as well as the willingness to continue the close coordination between Russia and France (as Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group), as well as through the UN Security Council.
Putin expressed condolences over the barbaric murder of a French language teacher in a suburb of Paris on October 16 and, in this context, the two presidents reaffirmed their mutual interest in the intensification of joint efforts in the fight against terrorism and dissemination of the ideology of extremism.
